A plastic tray provided with the game can be used to assist in setup. The blocks within each layer are oriented in the same direction, with their long sides touching, and are perpendicular to the ones in the layer immediately below. ![]() To begin the game, the blocks are stacked into a solid rectangular tower of 18 layers, with three blocks per layer. Blocks have small, random variations from these dimensions so as to create imperfections in the stacking process and make the game more challenging. ![]() Each block is three times as long as it is wide, and one fifth as thick as its length – 1.5 cm × 2.5 cm × 7.5 cm (0.59 in × 0.98 in × 2.95 in). Each block removed is then placed on top of the tower, creating a progressively more unstable structure. Players take turns removing one block at a time from a tower constructed of 54 blocks. Jenga is a game of physical skill created by British board game designer and author Leslie Scott and marketed by Hasbro. I like our larger knock-off set better, but they're both 5-star products.Manual dexterity, eye–hand coordination, precision, and strategy They just smell like whatever wood they were cut fromĬonclusion: this set is pretty great, with only a few inconsistently-sized blocks (smaller). didn't have the same smell the Jenga pieces did. is much larger and more suitable for adults to playģ. came with a bag (not super robust, but strong enough).Ģ. We'll find something else to put the pieces in by then, I'm sure.ġ. Not a big deal, but I'm sure it will fall apart some day. The storage for this is the box it came in. Not so big that it could really hurt the little kids, so long as an adult was there to watch the fall and to keep exposed body parts (e.g., tootsies) away from the impact zone. At this point, I don't know if it will prove to be more durable than the other blocks game we purchased at the same time or less so.įor the kids, this was the perfect size. This set of blocks had a bit of a smell when they first arrived (like pressure-treated wood). Jenga is a great game and this is an excellent addition to the Jenga family. we have friends who alway find the original Jenga frustrating because their fingers are too big to delicately remove the small pieces. You do have to be careful though because when the tower comes down those big pieces fly! It's no more or less fun than the original, but it is a lot easier for guys with big hands to play. You can still play it on a coffee table or dining room table, you don't need to clear a place on the floor. 6" compared to 3" - so everything is doubled. It's Jenga x2: the pieces are exactly twice as big as the original Jenga pieces. Giant makes me think of Jenga pieces so big that it takes two hands to pick them up, and there are companies that make yard-sized Jenga knock-offs with pieces that are three feet across. First off, let me say that this isn't Giant as much as it is Large. We love Jenga! We've played it for years - at home, on vacation, at friend's houses - it's a great game and everyone we know loves it, and this giant Jenga has kicked it up a notch.
